Two Opportunities to Offer Input

On Wednesday, July 13, the City is offering residents and stakeholders the chance to weigh in on two important City issues - the rewriting of the development code and the safety of pedestrians.

Code Connection Session: Wednesday, July 13, at 5 p.m.

The City is in the process of writing a new development code that will align with GVL2040 (the comprehensive plan) and address issues related to development across our community.

Throughout the process, the City is hosting monthly online “Code Connection” sessions to provide updates and answer questions about the project.

Join us for our next virtual live update on Wednesday, July 13 at 5 p.m. The session is titled Code Preview: Key Concepts in the New Development Code and How the Code will Work.

Pedestrian Safety Study Open House: Wednesday, July 13, at 5:30 p.m.

Review the community response to the city’s Pedestrian Safety Study and help us prioritize needs during a drop-in style open house on Wednesday, July 13.

City staff and the project consultants will be available to share information about the study, and residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.

The City has partnered with Stantec Consulting Services to study pedestrian safety and develop a plan that reduces the number of crashes and near misses involving pedestrians. It focuses on high-volume corridors and school zones and will provide the basis for prioritization and implementation of safety measures.
