Greenville Development Code - Virtual February Code Connections Meeting  

The City is in the process of writing a new development code that will align with GVL2040 (the comprehensive plan) and address issues related to development across our community. A second Code Connections virtual meeting on the rewrite of the development code will be next week Wednesday, February 9, at 5 PM. Road Closure on Falls St near Grand Bohemian Lodge 

Beginning next Monday, January 31, Falls Street, from Webster Street to Calvin Street- as well as the on-ramp to Church Street- will be closed. The closure will remain from Monday, January 31, through Friday, February 25. The purpose of the closure is to allow crews to finish installing the pavers for the streetscape at the Grand Bohemian Lodge site. Detour routes for vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be posted and access to businesses within the closure will be maintained.

Greenville Welcomes The Big Dog Show in March 

The City's Arts in Public Places Commission has approved The Big Dog Show, a large-scale traveling art exhibition by sculptor Dale Rogers. The art exhibition will be visiting Greenville from March - July 2022, and will consist of 20 (8ft by 10ft) corten steel sculptures of Rogers' famous American Dog. Locations to include Cleveland Park Stables and Main Street in the heart of downtown.

College/Buncombe Street Cultural Corridor 

The City, along with the project team, hosted its first public meeting virtually on January 25 to discuss the proposed road improvements in the section of College/Buncombe between Main Street and Heritage Green. Proposed improvements include street resurfacing, landscaping, multi-use paths, traffic signal upgrades and street/pedestrian lighting. If you missed the meeting, you can watch the recording, view the presentation and follow project updates at http://www.greenvillesc.gov/1946/College-Buncombe-Street-Cultural-Corrido.

Downtown Merchant Association - February Meeting 

Please join us on February 15 at 9AM at M.Judson Booksellers for our first in-person downtown merchant meeting of 2022.  We encourage you to invite a neighboring Central Business District business to attend with you. If you were unable to attend the virtual January meeting, you can watch the meeting and view the recap notes by clicking the links below. We hope to see you at next month's meeting.
